Kyle Orlando Massey was born on August 28, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in a family with performing interests and entered the entertainment business while still young. His older brother, Christopher Massey, also became an actor and would become familiar to Nickelodeon viewers through his role as Michael Barret on Zoey 101. Kyle, meanwhile, found his breakthrough with Disney Channel and became one of the network's recognizable young performers during the 2000s, when Disney was producing an extraordinarily successful collection of sitcoms aimed at children and teenagers.
